Sticky Bandits Wild Return Slot

Quickspin make a play for the fans of NetEnt’s gun slinging, sticky Wild wrangling legend Dead Or Alive II with its own sequel slot. Is this the new sheriff in town? A slot that will become ‘most wanted’ amongst the gang of Western themed slots that roam the best online casinos? Let’s mosey into the saloon of Sticky Bandits Wild Return and see how these five reels shape up . . .

About Sticky Bandits Wild Return

Pushing through the beautifully animated swing doors of the Three Skulls Saloon, you arrive before Sticky Bandit’s base-game of five reels with forty paylines to stage a stick-up on the paytable every spin. Hanging out on those five reels are four Royals (J to A) for the lower pays, whilst a box of cheroots, bottle of whiskey and three different bandit characters are on hand to rustle up the bigger rewards. A regular Wild is in town too to aid and abet raids on the pay-table with its power to substitute for all the previously mentioned paying symbols.

Before I dig in to the special symbols that can reel in this slot’s bonus games (and the source of the Sticky Wild action the game’s title teases), you’ll find the three bandit symbols can bring some ‘massive’ surprises too. Each can ride into view as beefed-up Massive Symbols, in either 2×2 or 3×3 supersized form. That’s a nice chance to shoot some holes in the paytable in the base game but, as we’ll see, adds some serious firepower in Sticky Bandits Free Spins feature!

Bonus Features

Before I turn my sights on this slot’s main free spins bonanza, you’ll also be delighted to see the special Quick Slot symbol put in an appearance on reel five. This sets you up for between one and three free spins on the Quick Slot Machine, a retro, three-reel treat that can land a win of five hundred times your bet for a classic line-up of three Lucky 7s on the payline. Pleasing as that is, you’ll no doubt be hoping that it’s the three Skull Scatter symbols that will make on appearance after a spin in the base game, since this is the trigger for seven Lucky Shot Free Spins.

The big deal of these bonus spins is the boost landing any bandit symbol can bring. First it guarantees a lucky shot is fired onto the reels to add some extra Wild firepower. How? Well, any symbol that catches the bullet is transformed into a Wild. Secondly – and this is where things get decidedly sticky – if that symbol happens to also be a bandit symbol that transforms to a Sticky Wild that stays in that symbol position for all remaining free spins in the bonus. Even more exciting, should it be a Massive Bandit symbol that bites the bullet all positions it occupies get the Sticky Wild treatment. Just imagine what that can do for your winning potential if it’s a 3×3 sized bandit that becomes nine Sticky Wilds from a single lucky shot being fired!

The Slot Professor’s Summary

Quickspin is clearly throwing down a challenge to players who favour NetEnt’s famous Dead Or Alive slots, and I for one think it’s a very worthy challenger. The presentation of this Western-themed slot is first class, but it’s not clever set dressing for a weak slot experience.

Quickspin has been quick on the draw here to gun down many of its rivals with a very entertaining five reels, so if you fancy a rootin’ tootin’ mission with some seriously Wild returns then I recommend taking a trip to the Three Skulls Saloon and pulling the trigger for yourself.
